Stylish Stay: The Glasshouse Hotel, Edinburgh

The entrance hall of The Glasshouse in Edinburgh is spacious and stylish; yet the greeting from it's doorman (who looks like Al Capone), and it's friendly reception staff will make you feel right at home.
A porter will show you to your room whether you have luggage or not; and when the door opens to your haven for the night you will not be disappointed.
The room carries on the hotel's slick modern styling; with a mixture of carpeted areas and wooden floor boards. Tasteful photographs of naked women adorn the walls, giving a true feel of opulence. Plus, the hotel isn't called The Glasshouse for nothing. A floor to ceiling window will give you a marvellous view of Edinburgh Castle or the bustling city.

Our room had a huge bed right in the centre covered in crisp white Egyptian cotton bed linen. You'll want to climb into it right away; but if you wait until the evening you'll get a turn-down service from the hotel's Housekeeping.

The bathroom is immaculate with a heated floor; and delightful Highland Aromatic toiletries will help you drift off into a peaceful slumber.

When you awake in the morning, a delicious feast awaits. Let friendly maitre'd Naomi cater to your every need. Enjoy some fresh fruit, cereal and pastries before enjoying something more substantial from the menu whilst sitting by the amazing windows looking up at the castle. Their pancakes with bacon, fresh fruit and syrup is a must!
If you would prefer to stay in your room however, the hotel offers full room service, with a menu full of lovely treats.

This 5-star hotel truly is a luxurious home from home, and is well worth a visit. Plus, it's location right next door to the Edinburgh Playhouse makes it perfect for catching a performance. Hairspray with Michael Ball is currently in residence until January 9th.

Rooms cost from as little as £95 per night if you book far enough in advance.
