Which designers were your inspiration when entering fashion?
Halston, and Geoffrey Beene.

Tell us about your involvement with the high street?
Designing Principle By Ben de Lisi as well as evening, home, accessories etc enables me to reach a wider consumer base; so now everyone can have a bit of the brand. I think all of the designers involved with the high street use their individual style and creativity with their high street collections.

By having a line in the high street, it allows women with larger dress sizes to wear your designs. Do you think that standard high-end designer collections should open their doors more to plus-sizes instead of only producing clothes in smaller sizes?
Yes! Being sizest is not good business sense as women come in all shapes and sizes.

Who is the ideal woman that you would like to design a dress for?
Both Julianne Moore and Kristin Scott-Thomas- both incredibly stylish and chic.
What do you think royal bride Katherine Middleton will wear on her big day?
I think she will go classic with a modern twist. Sleeves, a fuller skirt and train; but not as over the top as Diana's.
What are you doing at the moment?
Working on Principles by Ben de Lisi takes a lot of my time as it's a very big brand and is in over 170 stores. I still have evening wear, couture, and am currently doing the new NHS hospital gown. I also have my interior design work, a lot of new TV projects; and i'm really enjoying doing the Ben de Lisi homeware range.

What do you do in your spare time?
Painting, collection ceramics, looking after my 3 little French Bulldogs, and travelling whenever I can get away.
